Car Before Restoration

ABOUT 1914 BENZ RESTORATION

In January 2014, the car was delivered to us. We made a list of the parts that we need to source and we began doing extensive research on Benz cars produced between 1912 & 1914. Thus the actual restoration began only after 6 months because it took that long a time for research.

The wooden wheels were manufactured by at our associate's factory using CNC machines. Most of the body parts including the brass items were manually made by us. The engine was completely rebuilt since it had not run for 55 years. The transmission and brakes were overhauled.

Honey comb radiator core and original Eissman magneto were imported, while the radiator tanks were made in-house. The leather seats were made with coir and cotton and not a single gram of foam rubber was used in order to maintain 100% originality. All the floor aluminum panels were made new. The brass radiator grille was also made new. The car successfully finished the test run. Close to 25000 man hours was spent in restoring the car

We are proud to say that this is perhaps the most original Benz of the period 1912 to 1914 surviving in this world.

This 1956 Dodge Kingsway had few cracks in the engine block. It was crack sealed. Engine rebored & fitted with new liners, pistons, valves & bearings. New radiator was made & fitted

In the years 1948 to 50 Ashok motors, Madras were assembling the Austin A40 Devon. Later the company became Ashok Leyland. On the occasion of their 70th Anniversary, they wanted to unveil a 1948 Austin A40 which they have purchased.

This car required major restoration and the time given to us was 70 days. Due to excellent planning and team work the car was ready on the 70th day.
